Top group from the 1960s, The Honeycombs, will be appearing at Beccles Public Hall on Saturday, August 23, as part of their 50th Anniversary Tour celebrating “Have I The Right” reaching the number one spot in the UK charts.
In the summer of 1964 “Have I The Right” was released and soared up the UK charts becoming the first song to knock The Beatles off the coveted number one slot.
Now, 50 years on, and Beccles Public Hall welcomes Sixties pop sensations, The Honeycombs, live on stage as part of their 2014 Anniversary Tour.
Following their million-selling debut single - produced by the legendary independent record producer, Joe “Telstar” Meek - The Honeycombs enjoyed considerable international success with “Have I The Right” reaching No 5 in America and subsequent hits in 28 countries with number one’s in Germany, Australia, Canada, Sweden and Japan.
This is the official band from the “Swinging Sixties”, formed by founder member and leader Martin Murray who still leads the band today.
It is a dynamic show featuring the worldwide hits, “That’s The Way”, “Something Better Beginning”, “Is It Because”, “Love In Tokyo”, “Crazy But I Can’t Stop”, “Colourslide” and, of course, the group`s foot-stomping debut single “Have I The Right” alongside classic covers from the Swinging Sixties.
