A collection of bizarre space heroes, a naughty squirrel and a humorous Shakespeare play will be taking over Lowestoft Marina theatre over the next week.
From tonight until Thursday film lovers can enjoy the two hit movies Guardians of the Galaxy (12A) and The Nut Job (U), while on Sunday A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be screened.
Guardians of the Galaxy (12A) expands the Marvel Comics successful film franchise.
It tells the story of brash adventurer Peter Quill who finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe.
Quill, who is played by Chris Pratt, is forced to join up with the gun-totting racoon Rocket portrayed by Bradley Coper, Groot the tree-like alien, the enigmatic Gamora and Drax the Destroyer.
In animated film The Nut Job (Cert U) Surly the selfish squirrel has finally gone too far with his latest caper leading to an animal community’s winter food cache being destroyed.
However, there is more going on with the nut store being a front for bank robbers while a scheming raccoon has his own agenda to ensure his own power - leading to Surly stepping up to the plate and defending his friends from the villains.
Brendan Fraser and Liam Neeson are among the stars providing voices for the film.
On Sunday at 3pm, lovers of the Bard can see A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The screening is the last of the Shakespeare’s Globe on Screen live screenings performed and broadcast live from Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London.
