The sounds of two pop greats will coming from the Fisher Theatre in Bungay over the next week with two exciting gigs.

On Friday, February 17, Mark Nevin, who came to prominence as the founding member, guitarist and songwriter of Fairground Attraction, takes to the stage.

Then next Friday, February 24, The Bob Dylan Story will be told by one of the top tribute bands.

Mr Nevin had success in the 1980s with a number-one single Perfect and multi-platinum album, First of a Million Kisses, with each receiving a Brit award.

Since then he has collaborated as co-writer with Morrissey, Kirsty MacColl and Lloyd Cole. His songs have been covered by many others including David Bowie, Joe Cocker and Ringo Starr.

In 1999 he made the move to centre stage and producing his solo albums, with each marking a milestone in the growth of his confidence and the honing of his narrative style.

This year sees the release of his new album My Unfashionable Opinion. His live show is a masterclass in storytelling, songwriting and musicianship and feature his former Fairground Attraction band-mates, Roger Beaujolais on the vibraphone, Simon Edwards on bass and Richard Marcangelo on drums.

Tickets for this show are £15 and £12 for concessions.

The show will make the audience nostalgic, with the classics from Blowin’ In the Wind and Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door to Subterranean Homesick Blues and All Along The Watchtower. Tickets are £18 and £16 for concessions.

Saint Joan by George Bernard Shaw will be shown at The Fisher on Monday, February 20. This is an encore performance of the National Theatre production starring popular actress Gemma Arterton.

The play follows the life and trial of a young country girl who sets out on a bloody mission to drive the English from France. Tickets are £12.
