A week of music and drama fill the stage while a new art exhibition arrives in the Gallery at the Fisher Theatre, Bungay, this week.

Tonight singer, songwriter Emily Maguire will be performing. This is followed by high-energy The Pure Floyd Show, tomorrow. Individual touches of creativity and fun, a light show and other visual effects accompany this Pink Floyd tribute gig.

Opera Australia presents an exclusive screening of A Masked Ball on Monday.

Spain’s daring performance troupe La Fura dels Baus unleashes its startling vision on Verdi’s masterwork. This production creates a new theatrical benchmark in dynamic storytelling.

It is performed in Italian with English subtitles.

In a complete change of mood, popular Irish country singer Jason Travers and his band will be entertaining on Thursday.

Jason and his band are one of the very few bands that have played live on the John Murray Show on RTE Radio.

This proved to be a great success with the programme’s fans. Jason has also received a number of awards.

The week is rounded off with more drama. Open Space Theatre Company presents J B Priestley’s classic play An Inspector Calls next Friday. This production moves the action from its original pre first world war setting to the early 1980s, when Margaret Thatcher was at the height of her power. The wealthy Birling family is holding a dinner party. Into this happy scene comes a police inspector investigating the suicide of a young working-class woman.

The f6 photogroup, Chasing Light exhibition in the Fisher Gallery closes on Monday and on Wednesday a mixed media show by four local artists opens.

Artists Peter Cameron, Janice Alamanou, Johanna Labbe and Clive Dunn come together to present this show, which is open until September 28.

Peter has had a number of successful exhibitions in this part of the UK. He shows original works as well as prints.

Janice specialises in coastal landscapes, seascapes, travel and locations, predominantly of the Norfolk coast, but also other parts of the UK and Europe.

Johanna’s current paintings are on a mystical theme and often include symbolic and surreal depictions of exotic or mythic birds.

Clive was a finalist in the 2012 Norwich HEART photography competition – Alternative Angles.

Entry to the exhibitions is free and they can be viewed between 10am and 3pm Monday to Saturday, and again from 6pm on show nights.

Occasionally the Gallery is closed for meetings and other use so it is worth checking it will be open before making a special journey.
