Beccles Friends in Harmony Choir and the Norfolk Fellowship Brass Band of The Salvation Army will once again be combining their musical talents to present an evening of music to suit all tastes.

Featuring around 70 musicians from the combined choir and band, Music For A Summer’s Evening will be performed at St Michael’s Church in Beccles on Friday, June 9.

Friends in Harmony are well known in the Beccles area for their easy listening style of music and once again there will be a variety of both old and new music to hear and enjoy.

The Norfolk Fellowship Brass Band has been a guest of the choir a number of times and love playing in the beautiful building of St Michael’s, with it’s excellent acoustics.

Leader of Friends in Harmony, Bram Bryant, urges all previous fans of both choir and band to help publicise this special event by inviting friends and neighbours.

He said: “It really is a concert not to be missed and many hours have already been spent by both groups, together with many miles travelled for rehearsals in preparation for this musical evening.

“The band is made up of members from both Norfolk and Suffolk and so regular journeys from places such as Sheringham, Aylsham, Diss, Great Yarmouth and Coltishall require real dedication. Likewise, the choir has members who travel from Lowestoft, Harleston, Bungay and of course Beccles for regular rehearsal time.

“Proceeds of this concert will go towards the St Michael’s South Porch Building Fund. It is important that we all support this event to ensure that St Michael’s Church is kept in a good and safe order for generations to come.”

The concert will start at 7.30pm and donation tickets are available for £5 on the door.

During the interval, refreshments will be available, courtesy of members of St Michael’s Parish Church.

Beccles Friends in Harmony started in 1996 and since then every concert they have organised has raised money for local, national or even international charities. To date, they have raised over £50,000 for good causes.
