As millions watch Harry and Meghan tie the knot a Norfolk care home will be opening its doors to host a community celebration of the momentous occasion.

Brooke House residential care home, in Brooke Gardens, near Norwich, is inviting the public to its Royal Wedding Garden Party on Saturday, May 19.

The event will take place between 11am and 4pm and will give residents and members of the community an opportunity to interact and build relationships.

Home manager Hayley Hirst said: “Our residents are really looking forward to the big day and will be thrilled to share it with local families.

“It’s really important for residents to still feel part of their local community and that’s why we love to invite people into the home for events.”

Visitors will also have the opportunity to look around Brooke House if they wish.

The home was built in the 1930s as the stately residence of the Mackintosh family.

Smart dressed is requested.
