For lovers of the ‘80s, local DJ Paul Allen has a great evening of dance party hits lined up to play at Beccles Public Hall next Saturday, November 28.
Allen is well known in the area for his DJ and compere skills and the hall events team first met him when they experienced his excellent dance videos and PA sound system in March when Blondie tribute band One Way or Another packed out the Public Hall.
The evening runs from 8pm until 11.30pm and tickets are £8.
Another event not to miss is The Buddy Presley Show tonight at 7.30pm. Lead vocalist Dave B is a confessed Elvis and Buddy Holly nut. From the age of nine he has followed the path of these two artists and the rest of the 50s pioneers of rock.
This led to him auditioning in 1998 for a BBC1 TV show hosted by Gabby Roslin called Whatever You Want where they were looking for three people to compete for the chance of the prize of playing Buddy in Buddy The Musical at The Strand Theatre in London’s West End.
Dave B won and two weeks of TV exposure gave him the experience he needed to pursue his musical path.
