Earsham Fete and Carnival will be held this weekend, just weeks after organisers debated not running the event.
Inspired by the Great Get Together in memory of MP Jo Cox, which takes place tomorrow on the same day as the carnival, a new enthusiasm has gathered around the event.
A spokesmen for the event said: “We believe the Earsham Fete and Carnival really is a beacon of community good news that reflects the very best of British at a very challenging time.”
The medieval-themed carnival, held on the green opposite the Queens Head pub, starts at 11am.
Prizes such as taxi services, hairdressing, a free MoT and dinners and tea for two are up for grabs from local attractions.
There are 30 stalls of classic games like tombola, raffles and count the sweets with proceeds going towards refurbishing the village hall.
Waveney MP Peter Aldous is set to open the carnival.
