Bramfield-based drama group Circle 67, in addition to their usual tour of local venues, will once again be travelling the 650 miles to the Dordogne area of south-west France for three very special performances.

The group first ventured outside Suffolk in 2013 with its shortened version of Much Ado About Nothing and it was so well received that they have decided to return this year to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is among the best-known and funniest of Shakespeare’s comedies, relating the attempts of a group of illiterate yokels to prepare a play to celebrate the wedding between Theseus and Hippolyta and a quarrel in fairyland that threatens to upset everything.

The group will be performing at Bungay Castle on Wednesday, July 20.

Admission is free (with a hat collection at the end), but audiences need to collect a ticket beforehand from Jesters.Seating is provided and the performance will last about an hour.
