A live screening of a critically acclaimed National Theatre production is coming to Beccles.

Performances of The Deep Blue Sea will be shown at 2pm and 7pm at Beccles Public Hall on Thursday, February 8.

Helen McCrory, of Peaky Blinders fame, stars alongside Tom Burke in Terrence Rattigan’s devastating masterpiece.

Set in West London in 1952 the production tells the story of Hester Collyer and her tempestuous affair with a former RAF pilot and the breakdown of her marriage to a High Court judge.

A spokesman for the hall said: “With it comes a portrait of need, loneliness and long-repressed passion, behind the fragile veneer of post-war civility burns a brutal sense of loss and longing.

“Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to see a stunning contemporary drama.”

Tickets are £5 for adults and £4 for over-60s and under-16. They can be purchased from the hall box office or by calling 01502 770060 or visiting www.becclespublichall.org.uk
