A TOP London jazz singer is celebrating Halloween at the Cut in Halesworth.

Storytelling jazz chanteuse Ruthie Culver will be performing a special version of her Utter:Jazz show tomorrow as part of a UK Jazz Services/Arts Council tour.

The last time Ruthie was in Suffolk life was rather different.

Having suffered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for 15 years, she could only work part-time and certainly could not have sustained a big tour.

She had tried everything to get well and almost given up hope when she started hearing great things from other recovered sufferers about a new programme called The Lightning Process.

Desperate to live a full and normal life, she phoned a few practitioners to find out more and chose Kate Simpson at The Rowan Centre in Beccles with brilliant results.

Ruthie's show will feature classic songs from Sinatra's Witchcraft, to Dusty Springfield's Spooky, plus poems about ghosts and vampires, accompanied by live music.

The Cut is offering prizes for the best Halloween costumes, and supper treats can be booked in advance. The performance starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are 10 (8 concessions) and can be booked either online at or by phone on 0845 6732123.

Ruthie Culver has appeared at jazz clubs and festivals across the UK and as far afield as New York and New Zealand.

She has also performed by special invitation at Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Ball and at 10 Downing Street.
