The Fisher Theatre in Bungay has been closed for alterations to the bar for a week or so – but theatre-goers are set for two treats next week as it opens its doors again.

On Tuesday there is a live streaming of the National Theatre’s production of The Beaux Stratagem – the story of two charming but dissolute young men who have blown their fortune in London and flee to provincial Lichfield, where the stratagem is to marry for money. It is at 7pm and tickets are £12.

Next Friday, September 4, the Purple Dreams Theatre Company presents Love Games, a saucy comedy offering plenty of love, lust, laughter and lies. The play begins with Isaac catching a bus and falling for kind-hearted Sophiu, setting off love games that also involve rival suitor Chris and feisty Zoe. It is for one night only at 7.30pm, with tickets £10. The following day, Saturday, September 5, at 7.30pm, cabaret star Fiona-Jane Weston explores the life of actress Angela Lansbury, star of stage and screen, who has had a glittering career from the time she became a cabaret star at the age of 17.

Tickets are available from 01986 897130 or www.fishertheatre.org
