Long before our world of bankers’ bonuses and expenses, toffs and yuppies and chavs, the ever-fascinating subjects of money and class have been part of our musical heritage.

Now the trio Something Happened reveal the ever-changing face of the way we look up - or down - at each other in a hilarious, fascinating journey through a century of songs about high society and low life, good times and hard times, work and idleness, from the upper crust to the down-at-heel. Taking songs from music hall to folk and pop, they include classics from Noel Coward, Ray Davies, Bessie Smith, Jake Thackray, Marilyn Monroe and Victoria Wood - and uncover hidden gems from less well-known composers along the way. A Touch of Class is a feel good show that will make you laugh - and make you think.

The trio is made up of Terence Blacker on guitar, ukulele and vocals, Tracey Baldwin on vocals and Derek Hewitson on guitar, ukulele and vocals. Their last show Taboo-Be-Do: Hits and Misses from the Politically Incorrect Songbook, played at the King’s Head, Islington and at several festivals including the Hay Literary Festival, and was featured on a BBC Radio 4 documentary of the same name.

They will be performing at the Fisher Theatre in Bungay next Friday, March 13, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £9.50 or £8.50 from the box office on 01986 897130.
