ANNIE Rice is known for her bold colours and loose mark making, so visitors to her solo exhibition from Easter weekend at Beccles will not be disappointed,

Following on from her success at the Suffolk Open Studios where she won the most outstanding work in show award, Annie has produced paintings of flowers, still life, landscape and abstract for the two-week display at the Upstairs Gallery in Exchange Square.

She also produces greetings cards, each one an original painting.

The body of work has been produced at her studio at Henstead Arts and Crafts, but after Easter she will be painting in new space at her home in Beccles.

She said: “This will give me more time to paint without rent and travel time - a more green option. I will still tutor, and my workshops this year will be held at various great locations.”

She is also holding a watercolour workshop at St John's Ambulance Hall in Blyburgate on Sunday, May 9, with all proceeds going to the Beccles Lido Project.

Annie's exhibition at the Upstairs Gallery opened yesterday and runs to April 17, Tuesday to Saturday from 10am-4pm.
