THE Black Ram Theatre Company is back at Bungay's Fisher Theatre next Friday this time with the Charlotte Bronte classic Jane Eyre, adapted for the stage by Charles Vance.

The well-loved 19th century story of the penniless orphan is faithfully transferred from book to stage. It focuses on the love between Rochester and Jane as she arrives to take up the post of governess to Rochester's ward, Adele, at Thornfield Hall in 1846. But the hall is a place of mystery and fear.

Jane and Rochester fall in love, but their happiness is jeopardised by a grim secret from his past.

It is on for three nights from August 15, with a 2pm matinee on the Saturday. Tickets are £9 (£7.50 concessions).

Tonight in the cellar bar Gary's Dad and Pepe provide a double header of acoustic folk, pop and blues, with a raunchy attitude.

The Monday film is Bladerunner - the Final Cut (15), staring Harrison Ford in the cult sci-fi story. Wednesday's matinee at 2.30pm is Mr Deeds Goes to Town, and on Thursday evening the film is Vantage Point (12), starring Matthew Fox and Sigourney Weaver in the story of the attempted assassination of a president.

Tickets for all events at the Fisher are available through the box office on 01986 897130, or through the website: www.fishertheatre.org
