The Royal Opera House Live is presenting two short Italian operas being streamed to the Fisher Theatre at Bungay next Thursday.

Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci are each regarded as the composers’ masterpiece and are brought together in a new staging by award-winning director Damiano Michieletto.

Dutch soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek, exciting Italian soprano Carmen Giannattasio and Latvian tenor Aleksandrs Antonenko feature in the operas. Tickets for the 7.30pm show are £12.

On Monday evening Bungay Film Club is showing Trash (15).

It is a drama set in Rio and involves three children who find a wallet stashed with cash on a rubbish tip.

The Bungay Fisher Youth Theatre Group’s production of Whistle Down the Wind continues its run tonight at 7.30pm, with a matinee tomorrow at 2pm. The theatre group has built a big reputation for the quality of its productions and this beautiful classic tale of childhood innocence is set to be no exception.

Three children discover a fugitive wanted for murder hiding in a barn and mistake him for Jesus Christ, and endeavour to look after him and keep his secret. Songs from the West End musical will be included.

Tickets and more information about all the events at the theatre can be booked via the website at www.fishertheatre.org or by calling the box office on 01986 897130.
