BASIL Fawlty and the Fawlty Towers team are on stage at the Fisher Theatre at Bungay this evening to provide hilarious enjoyment for the audience.

The Seagull Rep production of Fawlty Towers, opened last night. The company's first stage adaptation of the classic comedy filled theatres throughout East Anglia, and now they are back with three more episodes of the antics of the snobbish hotelier Basil Fawlty, his practical wife Sybil and their staff. The Builders, The Wedding Party and Basil the Rat are the episodes featured. It got an impressive review when it was staged at the Seagull Theatre at Lowestoft last week. It is at 7.30pm tonight and tickets are £10 (£9 concessions).

The concert by the Davey Arthur Band, due on tomorrow night, has had to be cancelled due to illness.

The Thursday film next week is The Boys are Back (12A), at 7.30pm. That same evening, at 5.30-7.30pm, a new art exhibition opens for September. It is the work of Janice Powell, whose landscapes and townscapes convey her delight in observing the amazing diversity of colour, shape, tone and pattern around us. It will continue throughout September.

Next Friday, September 3, there is a fast moving sketch show, Guy and Rik's DIC, with two actors moving seamlessly from one character to another in a typhoon of chaotic events. It is at 7.30pm and tickets are £8 (£7 concessions).

Tickets for all events at the Fisher can be booked through the box office on 01986 897130, or via the website: www.fishertheatre.org

The autumn programme for the theatre is now available at the box office and at various outlets in Bungay and surrounding towns.
