Former hostage to give talk

TERRY Waite, former special envoy to the Archbishop of Canterbury and once a hostage in the Middle East, is at Bungay's Fisher Theatre on Wednesday evening.

In An Evening with Terry Waite he will speak about his remarkable life as a diplomat and humanitarian and a world-renowned agent of peace.

A testament to the power and resilience of the human spirit, he gained international recognition in the 1980s when he successfully negotiated the release of hostages in Iran and Lybia.

Tickets for the evening, which starts at 7.30pm and is a fundraising event for the Friends of All Hallows Hospital, are £12.50 (£10 concessions).

This evening Abba Queens, a professional Abba tribute show, will perform all of Abba's well known hits. The group has been performing since 2007 and with costume changes and choreography all designed to be interactive and entertaining the audience will get the full Abba experience. Tickets are £12.50 (£10 concessions).

The Spike Drivers country group are at the theatre tomorrow evening. A group which takes its inspiration from their American roots and the country's rich and unique instrumentation they provide a fresh and exciting sound and an atmosphere to take you on a journey from southern juke joints and lazy front porches to the huge open spaces of dust bowls and railroad tracks. Tickets are £10.

Next Friday and Saturday evening the Black Ram Theatre Company presents Someone to Watch Over Me, the heartrending, compassionate and tender, tragic story of Keenan and two fellow captives held hostage together in a small cell. Tickets are £12 (£10 concessions).

The Thursday film next week is Bright star (PG).
