The Fisher Theatre stages a professional pantomime for the fourth successive year as Steve Ace and his team present Dick Whittington and his Cat.

The colourful show opens this evening at 7.30pm - the first of 24 performances running through till Sunday, January 3.

Steve Ace stars as Dame Fitzwarren, Lauren Major is in the title role of Dick Whittington, Gavin Dean is Idle Jack, and Clare Durrant is Alice Fitzwarren. And Mike Wallis and Danny Hanton alternate as King Rat - the one the audience will enjoy hissing and booing.

There is already a steady demand for tickets, which are £12.50 for adults, £10.50 for seniors and £8.50 for children, with a special family tickets for two adults and two children available at £38 and also special rates for parties of 15 or more.

The only days the Pantomime is not on are Christmas Day, and Tuesday, December 29, when the Festive Frolic III, headlining Hot or Wot, takes the stage. It features Ken Millie (vocals),Tim Sumnmerson (harmonica and guitar), Paddy Shaw (bass), Paul Jesperson (drums), and Alan Fulwood (guitar), with support from Amy Beskin and JAGO. Tickets are £7.50 in advance, £10 on the door, and it starts at 8pm.
