Waveney Light Opera Group (WLOG) may have just finished a sell-out performance of Singing in the Rain but they are already gearing up for their next production which will take them in a totally different direction.
The cast are taking on Stephen Sondheim’s “Sweeney Tood - the Demon Barber of Fleet Street” and are already looking for people to join in either on-stage or backstage.
WLOG will be welcoming a brand-new directing team for this production, Cordelia Spence as stage director and Jon Gibbs as musical director, who have some exciting ideas in store for the production.
If you enjoy musical theatre and fancy getting involved there’s something for everyone including singing, dancing, acting, stage management, set design/construction, lighting, make-up or costumes.
A preview evening will be held on Monday at 7.30pm in the Quaker Hall Beccles, with principals’ auditions on November 9 and 10, before rehearsals start with chorus auditions on November 12.
The show will be performed in the Public Hall at Beccles between Tuesday, April 28 and Saturday, May 2 next year.

• Join the Public Hall team on Sunday, November 2, at 2pm for another Afternoon with The Adrian Bell Society when there will be readings from Adrian’s famous country diaries, journals plus an array of some of the twenty five books that he wrote in his lifetime.
“We can still enjoy excerpts from his diaries, The Countryman’s Notebook, in the Eastern Daily Press each week, all these years after he first started compiling it in 1950”, said John Ford, chairman of the Adrian Bell Society.
Helen McDermott will be the guest reader, Tickets are £4 each including refreshments. Tickets can be purchased from the Box Office, open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 3pm or at www.becclespublichall.com
