Beccles Care Home is inviting people from the town to its new community days in a bid to "make more friends".

The home on St George's Road is opening its doors with a variety of events for local people to enjoy.

There will be board games sessions, parent and child groups, a knit and natter group and a dementia community café.

Home manager Davina Button said: “We’re really looking forward to making more friends in our local community.

"The more support and advice we can provide about dementia, the better."

The care home in April was rated 'good' by health watchdog the Care Quality Commission having previously been rated 'inadequate'.

Having made additional measures to improve the facility the home is hopeful that working with the community can provide a better standard of living for the residents.

The home manager added: "If anyone is unable to make it on the day but would like to pop in for a tour and a cup of tea, our doors are always open.”

A community dementia café session is designed to provide advice and social support to guests who will also have a chance to meet other carers supporting people living with dementia.
