A town's highly anticipated hospital fete is due to return with organisers "proud of the arrangements".

The Beccles Hospital Fete returns on Saturday, June 24, in the hospital grounds between 2pm and 4pm.

The event will include stalls, games, entertainment and refreshments, and is raising funds for the Hospital League of Friends and local charities concerned with medical matters and welfare.

The fete is organised by the Rotary Club of Beccles.

Rotary president Serena Emberley said: “We are proud of the arrangements for this year’s fete, put together by Nicholas Rudge and his committee of Rotarians.

"We think there’s something for everyone and we look forward to welcoming as many people as possible this year.

"We can’t do it without the excellent support we get from the town and the many people who contribute.”

It is the first hospital fete that the Beccles Rotary Club have been able to host for three years.

Last month the group hosted the annual Beccles Cycle for Life charity ride with more than 200 cyclists taking part in the event.

Christine Wheeler, mayor of Beccles, will open the fete.

Traditional favourites such as tombolas, skittles, bowls, teddy bears, games of skill and chance, a second-hand clothing stall and bric-a-brac will also be there.
