Bargain hunters will soon be flocking to Beccles 'first-ever' car boot sale

The Beccles Car Boot event is to be held at St Benet’s Catholic Primary School, Ringsfield Road.

The sale will open at 8am on Sunday, July 9, while the gates for sellers open at 7.30am to allow them the window to pitch up.

Depending on the success of the event organisers say it may become a regular event.

Beccie Amer, one of the organisers from the school's parent and teacher association, said: "This will be the first Beccles Car Boot sale and we are really excited, everyone loves a bargain, so come down.

"We hope it will be a fun day out, if you want to get the best of the pick or uncover that gem of a find that turns out to be a bit of an antique, then you’ll need to be up with the larks.

"Our hope is that if it is well attended we can do it regularly, perhaps on a monthly basis."

Members of St Benet’s Catholic Primary School Parents Teachers Association (PTA) are organising the event, with seller pitch fees being donated to the school.

Mrs Amer, whose son is at the school, said: "All pitch fees will be going towards the school to make improvements on site and provide school trips for pupils.

"Onsite there will be an ice cream van and other food vans available to keep visitors refreshed."
