Elvis Presley audition call for Bungay show All Shook Up

Being performed in Bungay's Fisher Theatre, All Shook Up is a musical comedy featuring the hits of Elvis Presley, with a story inspired by Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.

It is set in a small midwestern town that is thrown into a frenzy with the arrival of Chad, a "good-looking, motorcycling roustabout".

UpShoot Theatre has opened auditions to all interested people aged 18 years and above, provided they are committed to rehearsals and performances.

“We’re looking for new and known talent for principal and ensemble roles to join our creative and supportive company for our next production, All Shook Up," said Laila France from Upshoot's production team.

UpShoot Theatre produced Bungay's Christmas pantomime Jack and The Beanstalk.

In a statement, directors Alisha Hart and Ruth Alder said: “Following the success of our outdoor tour of Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim in 2022, we are celebrating our home venue and doing a limited run at the wonderful Fisher Theatre in Bungay.

"We wanted a show that would bring fun and energy to our audiences, and seeing that captured so brilliantly in Baz Lurhmann’s film Elvis, what could be more appropriate than All Shook Up?

"We hope to celebrate emerging from a difficult time for many people."

For those interested an information night is to be held at Bungay's Fisher Theatre on Wednesday, February, 22 between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.

Following this, there will be a group audition at the Bungay Fisher Theatre on Sunday, February 26, from 6pm and 9pm.

And finally, on March 1, there will be principal auditions for all allocated slots.
